Reality Star Takes Plea Deal In Orlando Bloom Burglary

7 Feb

Alexis Neiers, star of E!’s ‘Pretty Wild’, pleaded no contest today to felony burglary of Orlando Bloom’s home. She was able to strike a last-minute deal this morning, avoiding her trial that was scheduled to begin today.

Alexis will be on probation for three years and serve 180 days in jail starting June 24. Her charges stem from a string of robberies by the “Burglar Bunch” who robbed the homes of Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Audrina Patridge and many others.

“Ms. Neiers feels it’s in her best interest to take the people’s offer because of the amount of jail time that could possibly occur … and she wants to move on with her life,” her attorney, Jeffery Rubenstein, told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza

“It’s been a long road and Alexis is looking forward to moving on with her life,” Rubenstein said after today’s hearing. “After lengthy consideration and fighting the best pretrial fight we could, we decided it was in Alexis’ best interest to take responsibility for her small part in this incident and do a little bit of county jail time instead of a lengthy state prison sentence if convicted.”

If she had decided not to take this deal, she would have been looking at about six years in prison. Do you think she got off pretty easy? What do you think about her attorney using the wording “her small role in this incident”? I guess it just bothers me that to them this just some “little incident”! Robbing someone is a serious crime – not an “incident”, in my book.
